Hot Wheels and MoMA: Art Meets Automotive Design

Mattel Creations is shifting gears, teaming up with the prestigious Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) to release a limited-edition series of Hot Wheels cars based on iconic automobiles. This collaboration highlights the intersection of design, art, and play. The project also celebrates the launch of MoMA's Samuel and Ronnie Heyman Family Art Lab.

The highlight of this partnership is a meticulously crafted pair of Hot Wheels models representing automotive design excellence:

  • Jaguar E-Type Roadster: Celebrated as one of the most aesthetically pleasing cars ever created, the E-Type's graceful curves are faithfully rendered in miniature.
  • Citroën DS 23: This vehicle embodies innovation with its futuristic design and revolutionary suspension system.

Both vehicles hold a distinguished place in automotive history and are part of MoMA's permanent collection, a testament to their artistic significance.

This collaboration isn't just about model cars. It's a larger collection of seven Mattel toys and games designed to encourage creativity in both children and adults. MoMA's Art Lab acts as an interactive space for visitors to experiment and explore modern art through various engaging activities focused on shapes, sounds, colors and forms present in nature.

The Mattel Creations and MoMA collection will be available starting November 11th. Collectors and art enthusiasts can purchase these miniature masterpieces through the Mattel Creations website, MoMA's online store, and in person at the MoMA Design Stores located in New York and Japan.
